December 12, Clearwater, FL: The world’s most prestigious “showgirl” dance competition returns for its fifth straight year, as the dates and venues for the 2018 EXOTIC DANCER Invitational (EDI) West Contest have been announced. For the first time ever, the EDI heads to “Sin City” — Las Vegas — and Centerfolds Cabaret, April 13-15, 2018.
“We are honored to be the host club of the 2018 EDI West Competition,” says Centerfolds Cabaret owner, Steve Paik. “A special thanks to EDI producers ED Publications for this opportunity. We are very excited to have all of the nation’s top feature entertainers performing under one roof this April!”
Though the Annual Gentlemen’s Club EXPO (also produced by ED Publications) has called Las Vegas its home for the better part of the past quarter century, the EDI has yet to find itself in the city that’s known both for it’s world-renown strip clubs and its burlesque history. That’s why Centerfolds Cabaret in Las Vegas made the ideal choice to host the EDI West.
“Las Vegas is the perfect home for the EDI West, and Centerfolds Cabaret is a club that understands the unique style of entertainment that is presented by today’s top showgirl features,” says Dave Manack, Founder of the EDI Contest and ED Publications’ Associate Publisher.“We are also very proud of the growth of the EDI contests, and we can’t wait to see what amazing shows these first-class feature entertainers will bring to this year’s EDI contest!”
The EDI contests showcase entertainers in two divisions competing on three straight nights: Newcomers (entertainers with two years or less of “feature” experience) compete on the first night; Showgirls (established feature entertainers) compete on the second night; and the top three competitors from each division compete in the Finals on the last night of the competition. Cash prizes are awarded for both divisions, as well as main titles and mini titles (including sashes and trophies). In addition, the winner of the Showgirl Division will become an automatic nominee for the ED’s Overall Entertainer of the Year, the most prestigious award in the industry for national, touring feature entertainers. (Note: Division assignments are at the discretion of the contest producers.)
